The Only One: Glasses

You got glasses and everyone stared for a week.

You can see now. That's the whole point. The glasses are how it happens.

This is for:

For the Children who got glasses and are managing the adjustment — the stares, the questions, the newness — and who need a book that sees them as more than their glasses

You'll produce:your Your Glasses Page

The Name It First Experience

Getting glasses changes how you see things. It also changes how some people see you — for about a week. Then they forget about the glasses and see you again. This book is about all of you: the part that can see better now and the part that was always there. You will write and draw the things that make you you — and the glasses are one of them, not the most important one. You will make your own page.

You can opt into 30-, 60-, and 90-day check-ins from your account. We recommend you do — the point is to see what changed.

Sample questions

  1. What was the first time you noticed you saw things differently — literally and figuratively?
  2. What was it like to be the only kid with glasses — and what did that experience teach you about being different?
  3. What do you want to say about what it meant to see the world through glasses when others didn't have to?
  4. What has being the one who wears glasses taught you about difference, visibility, and what it means to need something others don't?
