The Helper's Dilemma

Your friend needs help but helping makes you late — help and be late, or hurry ahead?

Being a helper is easy when it doesn't cost you anything. This is the other kind.

This is for:

For the Young children — ages 5 to 9 — who are learning that caring for others sometimes costs you something. Also for caregivers and educators working to build empathy as an action, not a feeling.

You'll produce:your The Helper's Dilemma Page

The Name It First Experience

Your friend dropped everything and can't pick it all up and you're already going to be late. You could stop and help. Or you could hurry ahead and let them figure it out. In The Helper's Dilemma, you choose what happens next. Each path leads somewhere different. This is a story for children who are learning that helping someone is a real choice — not a feeling — and that it sometimes means being late, or uncomfortable, or different from the crowd. The output is your Helper's Dilemma Page — the choice you made and what it meant for both of you.

You can opt into 30-, 60-, and 90-day check-ins from your account. We recommend you do — the point is to see what changed.
