Also for their peers and caregivers who want to build genuine understanding without reducing someone to their condition.
The Name It First Experience
Someone asked about your wheelchair. Or your medicine. Or why you move the way you do. Or they stared without asking. Or they acted like it was a big deal, or like it wasn't one, and neither felt right. In My Body Does Something Different, you navigate what happens when your body is visible in ways you didn't plan — what you explain, what you don't, what you say when someone gets it wrong, what you do when they get it right. Each path leads somewhere different. This is a story for children who are learning that their body is not the whole story — and for everyone around them who is figuring out how to see them clearly. The output is your My Body Does Something Different Agreement — what you know about your body, what you want others to understand, and what you choose to say.
