The world has decided things about Black men before you have said a word. What you have not always had is a place to name who you are — separate from the surveillance, the stereotype, the story the world has already written. Your Black Sonhood Statement names what being a Black son means to you, what you inherited, and who you are choosing to become. The output is not a reaction to the world's story. It is your own.
