Workbook
For Argentine Women
Independencia, Familia, y la Vida que Estás Construyendo en tu País
You've done the talking. Now it's time to write the document.
For the woman of Argentine heritage who moves between fierce independence and the gravitational pull of family expectation, who has perhaps already done years of personal work, and who is ready to write down — in her own words — what she stands for
The Name It First Experience
Argentine culture gave you two things simultaneously: one of the world's most vibrant feminist movements and one of its most entrenched machista family structures. You have been navigating that contradiction your whole life. This workbook does not resolve it — it maps it. Section by section, you will name what you inherited from the women before you, what the culture demanded you be, and what you have decided for yourself. The work ends with The Argentine Women Agreement — a written record of your values, your limits, and the woman you are building on your own terms.
You can opt into 30-, 60-, and 90-day check-ins from your account. We recommend you do — the point is to see what changed.
Sample questions
Research basis
Argentina holds the highest per-capita concentration of psychoanalysts globally, a cultural fact documented by the International Psychoanalytical Association and multiple ethnographic studies (Plotkin, 2001 / Lakoff, 2005). This produces a culturally distinct population: Argentine women are often analytically fluent yet operating in family systems that remain structurally machista. The Ni Una Menos movement (2015-present) has produced the most active fourth-wave feminist mass movement in Latin America, yet femicide rates in Argentina remained high (235 women killed in 2015 alone), illustrating the gap between political consciousness and structural reality that Argentine women hold simultaneously. Falicov's family systems framework (Latino Families in Therapy, 2014) documents the specific tensions immigrant and diaspora Latinas navigate between familismo and autonomy. Intersectionality theory (Crenshaw, 1989) applies directly to Argentine women, whose identity is shaped by European immigration waves, colonial history, class stratification, and feminist political identity simultaneously. Berry's acculturation framework (1997) is relevant for Argentine-heritage women living outside Argentina who navigate host-culture demands while maintaining strong national identity. Research on Latina women's mental health (Falicov / Espin, 1997) identifies the conflict between independent selfhood and relational obligation as a primary source of chronic stress in this population.
